Brush

My latest artistic focus has been on developing a series of paintings. This series of mural-like posters is an exercise in balancing my familiarity with drawing and painting. These pieces challenge my ability to depict while referencing the process of creating the image, and further still, the process of the series itself. The depictions, developed upon the registration of the process, may be characterized by the combination of the two while allowing each to speak for themselves.

The Background

I have gone in and out of using the medium between dabbling in various others, and recently, I have felt so drawn to paint. In my artistic search, I've been getting familiar with new confidence in my hand and style. My journey as a painter hasn’t been so linear but has always somehow been so necessary on a personal level. From late-night reruns of Bob Ross sessions to Crayola paint books, my childhood set the foundation for a deep connection to painting. One that is closely comparable to that which I have with drawing and sketching.
